Frank Zarello
Vice President and Director of Planning, Big M Inc.
Frank Zarrello has been involved in the retail business for 30 years and has been Vice President of four different Women's specialty retailing chains that had a combined store count of over 2300 stores. Currently for the past 12 years, he has been Vice President and Director of Planning and Allocation for Big M Inc., which has three divisions. "Mandee's" which is a Junior Women's Fashion chain that has 125 stores, "Annie Sez", which is an off-price women's designer chain with 50 stores, and "Afaze" which is an accessory chain with 20 stores. Most of these stores are located in the northeast part of the United States. They are now expanding into the Mid West and Florida.
He also sits on the Steering committee for his company as well as Executive committee for the national (A.M.P.A.) organization, which stands for the "The Association of Merchandise Planning and Allocation". This organization has 150 different retail companies as members. It is made up of their Vice Presidents who come together and share ideas on the processes, computer software systems, and best practices surrounding the retail business. He is on the advisory board for the Retail Information Systems ("RIS") magazine where he shares and discusses the future of technology in the retail industry. He also sits on the advisory board for Berkeley College in New York City and is involved with the development of Curriculum for the Retail Merchandise Planning Areas so the students are better prepared for the Retail industry. He has introduced Planning and Allocation Systems like Arthur for hands on training while studying for their Degrees.
