CROSS-CHANNEL RETAILING: CREATING INTERSECTIONS OF OPPORTUNITY
Speaker: Chris Ladd, Vice President, Global Internet & Retail, Crocs Inc.
A new breed of executive is emerging in cross-channel retailing. One who has spent his entire career in retail, but exclusively in e-commerce. An executive like Chris Ladd of Crocs, who is in charge of both online and store commerce, who brings a new perspective about what cross-channel alignment means. His approach is to abandon viewing channels separately but instead as overlapping with key opportunities found in the intersections. The Web site, for example, is viewed as the largest flagship store. At the systems level, everything is focused on the data and interaction with the customer. Ladd talks about a new vision of cross-channel transformation and how Crocs has rebooted its business model.
