"Getting Retail Customers to WOW!" Engaging Shoppers Even When the Product Isn't at Hand.

By far, retail stores continue to lead as THE primary source for consumer purchasing, despite the increase in Internet and catalog market share. And that's good news for retailers. But optimism is almost always weighted with challenge and retail is no exception.Floor space has become more expensive as retailers are being forced to extend their product lines into entirely new categories in order to compete (competition is increasing particularly amongst specialty players). At the same time, today's consumer expectations of the shopping experience have risen dramatically. While industry margins (net profit) remain in the 3 to 7 percent range, pricing pressure and increased competition have placed a greater onus on innovation in order to achieve sustained profitability and growth.
