Brown Shoe's Peter Hogan Charts M-Commerce Roadmap
Many retailers are using their e-commerce sites as a model and launching pad for their moves into mobile commerce, but there's much more involved than simply re-creating a website for a mobile device. At this year's Cross-Channel Retail Executive Summit (CCRES), Peter Hogan, vice president of eCommerce at Brown Shoe Company, will chart the roadmap that the global footwear company used as it moved from e-commerce to m-commerce to mobile applications.
Last year, Brown Shoe took three of its websites mobile, effectively leveraging these e-commerce storefronts in a mobile browser. This year it has taken the next step and created mobile apps for Apple iPod and Google Android to make the mobile shopping experience easier and more convenient. Hogan will reveal how the company made its move into mobile with a low barrier to entry that is producing dramatic results.
The fourth annual CCRES will take place September 15-17 at the Four Seasons Troon North in Scottsdale, Arizona. This year's theme for the must-attend event is The Shopper-Driven Imperative: New Channels, New Opportunities. Click here to register.
