Open APIs Simplify Extending Functionality to New Touchpoints

New Open Commerce APIs (application programming interfaces) from Demandware allow retailers to streamline the extension of enterprise and commerce functionalities, including transactions, to Facebook applications, shoppable blogs, mobile and tablet apps and POS recommendation engines. The APIs expose key commerce features such as product, catalog, search, promotion, customer account, shopping cart and checkout, providing a complete shopping and buying experience.

Included as part of the Demandware Commerce platform, these scalable APIs allow outside Web applications and enterprise software to interface with all Demandware Commerce shopping functionality, ensuring that product, promotion, account and brand experiences remain consistent to the customer across all interactions with the retail brand.

The Demandware Open Commerce APIs also facilitate in-store commerce, allowing retailers to integrate customer, product and promotional data through interactive display windows, QR and barcode scanning, handheld devices and kiosks.
