Kohl's Offers No-Cost Electric Vehicle Charging at 33 Stores

Seeking to go green while also attracting the small but growing cohort of electric vehicle (EV) drivers, Kohl's is piloting EV charging stations at 33 stores in 11 states. The charging stations, consisting of one to four parking spaces reserved for EVs, can be activated in a number of ways, including RFID cards available at Kohl's customer service desk and via phone numbers provided on the charging stations themselves.

"Kohl's pilot of electric vehicle charging stations demonstrates our commitment to advancing environmental solutions in a meaningful and tangible way for our customers," said Kohl's chief administrative officer John Worthington in a statement. "Not only are these stations an added shopper convenience, they also encourage environmental responsibility among our shoppers. We will continue to explore additional locations to pilot charging stations at our stores nationwide."

Kohl's has partnered with ECOtality to install its Blink Pedestal EV charging stations at 14 stores in Arizona, California, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington. The retailer has also partnered with Coulomb Technologies to install charging stations at 19 additional stores located in California, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, New York Texas, Virginia and Washington.
