Meijer Pilots Product Locator Mobile App
A pilot program at four Meijer stores offers smartphone-equipped shoppers the ability to find the precise location of any one of 100,000 products within the supercenter store.
The "Find-it" application shows item locations as pins placed on an interior map of the store. The free application also provides shoppers with updated weekly specials and product promotions that are available in the store, with the ability to instantly locate sale items.
The mobile app is built on Point Inside's mobile destination content platform. In addition to item locations, the app lists available services and their locations, such as the store's restrooms and customer service desk. Another feature is "Remember My Parking Spot," showing the location of the shopper's car in the Meijer parking lot, as well as location and contact information for all of the 196 Meijer stores. The "Find-it" app is available for free for both Android and Apple devices.
"Meijer is always looking for ways to improve our customers' shopping experience," said Elizabeth Wilson, online/mobile marketing specialist for Meijer. "So we are truly excited to introduce technology that not only continues our company's tradition of innovation, but helps make shopping more convenient and fun for our customers."
