Credit Card Scammers Hit Walmart for $250,000

Three cashiers were arrested for stealing more than $250,000 from a Walmart where they were employed.

The criminals operated a major credit card scam at a Queens-based Walmart where each would transfer $1,000 at a time from the stolen credit cards to store gift cards without verifying the validity of the card.

The cashiers, Gregory Harrigan, 23, Daman Pearson, 31, and Oluchi Nwosu, 21, are part of a crew that used stolen credit cards to purchase store gift cards.

The theft took place between November 1, 2009 and January 28, 2010. Walmart sustained $255,467 in losses because of the scam.
