Neiman Marcus Unwraps Mobile Gift Suggestion App

Neiman Marcus customers can now avail themselves of the gift selection expertise of the luxury retailer’s buying team with the Neiman Marcus Gift App for iPhone and iPod touch. In addition to specific gift suggestions, the app features a new item chosen each day by the buying team.

Customers can also view unique gift ideas with the “Surprise Me” feature, activated by shaking their mobile devices. Neiman Marcus will provide free delivery for all gifts ordered through the app, and for a limited time will donate $1 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters for every app downloaded.

Neiman Marcus also recently announced that it has selected Infosys Technologies as its strategic sourcing partner for providing application development and maintenance services for business applications across its stores, online and catalog businesses. The retailer wants to make process improvements to align with changing market and consumer trends and to make its operations more cost-efficient in general.

“We maintain a high level of system availability and deliver quality solutions to satisfy current and future business needs,” said Phillip Maxell, senior vice president and CIO, Neiman Marcus. “By partnering with Infosys and leveraging its rich retail expertise, we are able to stay focused on serving the unique needs of the luxury market, providing our customers with distinctive merchandise and superior service as well as staying committed to productivity improvement.”
