RetailROI's Greg Buzek Honored by Congress
With over 200 current and former members of Congress participating, CCAI is one of the largest coalitions in the nation's legislature. CCAI established the Angels in Adoption program in 1999 to raise awareness of adoption and celebrates those who have made a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children in the need of a family.
The Paul Singer Award is the newest addition to Angels in Adoption. The award, named after adoptive parent and former CIO and SVP of Target and Supervalu Paul Singer, is awarded to business or government leaders who have gone beyond their corporate or agency roles to advocate for better adoption and foster care policies worldwide. In this spirit, the inaugural award was presented to Buzek by Senator Mary Landrieu from Louisiana and Lisa Martin, Singer's daughter.
"It was incredibly humbling to receive an award named after our friend and true giant Paul Singer," says Buzek. "But it's clear the award is not the reward. The reward is the joy of the kids whose lives have been forever changed because we have joined together as individuals and an industry to make a difference."
