Upstream Commerce, a retail price intelligence and competitive monitoring tool, announced the integration of its Retail Intelligence Suite with the e-commerce platform, Magento, a division of eBay. Magento users will be able to track competitors' prices and assortments in real time to give them a competitive advantage in the online marketplace.
The Upstream Commerce Retail Intelligence Suite includes an Assortment Intelligence tool, as well as its automated Pricing Intelligence tool, which currently tracks products and intelligence data. The cloud-based SaaS technology uses advanced artificial intelligence, semantic analysis, data-mining and image-recognition algorithms. The platform extracts information directly from a competitor's shopping cart in order to analyze exact pricing including discounts that may be taken during checkout.
Through integration with Magento, Upstream Commerce will automatically extract product, pricing and assortment data from the Magento platform and import it into the Upstream Commerce system, matching and comparing it with data collected from competitors. Future capabilities include the ability for retailers to change the prices in their storefront directly from the Upstream Commerce system using competitive intelligence data appearing directly in Magento's admin panel, delivering a fully actionable cycle where data is automatically extracted, analyzed and delivered.
