CVS Rolls Out New Pharmacy Retail System
CVS announces plans to roll out a new Pharmacy Retail system, RX Connect, which acts as a consumer engagement engine in its stores. The consumer engagement engine, which the pharmaceutical chain calls CCE, provides CVS with a single view of the patient.
"We made investments in technology that will position us well for the evolving healthcare environments," says Thomas M. Ryan, Chairman, President, Chief Executive Officer, CVS.
CEE started rolling out in the fourth quarter of last year when the company implemented its first in its PBM customer care center. When members call in, CVS is able to message them important opportunities for health improvement or cost savings such as savings from preferred formularies, generic savings or gaps in care. The CEE will be rolled out across all of the company's channels and will be live in retail in mid 2010.
"This tool will help broaden our clinical capabilities across our asset base," adds Ryan.
